Resume Building
Goals of your Resume
* To catch the reader's interest in the first 30 seconds
* To entice the reader to want to get to know you better
* To stress your excellent abilities to distinguish yourself from other
applicants
* To Sell Yourself, Honestly and Positively!
Three Types of Resumes
* Chronological - highlights past work activities and positions starting with
the most recent
* Functional - emphasizes skill rather than work experience; good for those
with gaps in their employment history, for youth without experience and for
people returning to work after an absence from the work force
* Unique - often written for one specific job opening, appropriate for
special aptitudes and abilities
