Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Management or Public Administration; will consider other degrees
  • Five (5) years’ experience in a leadership role; longer service is an asset
  • Experience managing budgets for a large organization
  • Experience with strategic planning, contracting, negotiating, change, and risk management
  • Ability to manage key constituent relationships; patrons, business partners, government agencies, etc
  • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal/external challenges or obstacles
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation applicable to government organizations including: employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, etc
  • Diplomacy in pressure situations with calm, steady demeanor; builds positive relationships with all
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate meetings; professional verbal/written communication
  • Identification and resolution skills; strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal record check
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to personal vehicle for business related purposes
  • Satisfactory driver’s abstract
 

 

Duties:

  • The Executive Director of Administration (EDA) is responsible for taking the direction of Council to develop the Nation through utilizing the departments and functions within the scope of the positions responsibilities
  • The EDA is responsible for the ongoing success of operations and associated strategic planning initiatives
  • Internally, the EDA focuses on the ongoing improvements of the organizations processes to ensure maximum communication and transparency Externally, the EDA establishes and maintains key long-term relationships with partners that enhance the organization for its Membership
  • Working collaboratively with other members of the Executive Management Team, the EDA will monitor and ensure the legal and regulatory obligations are met for compliance and reporting
