Workshops
Fort Nelson Employment Services Inc. offers a variety of free workshops to meet your employment needs. Whether you need to learn the skills to get hired, need assistance exploring options, or want to simply work on the basics, we have the workshop for you! As everyone has a different approach to learning, we offer workshops face-to-face or virtually to best suit your needs!
Pathways
Pathways is a 12-week, full-time employment training program that includes training, job search supports, industry-specific certifications, work clothing and hiring incentives for employment. Participants may be eligible for a $350 per week living stipend!
Who can apply?
Candidates must be:
- 16 years of age or older.
- Reside in Fort St. John or the surrounding area.
- Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or protected person legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Participants must identify two or more challenges such as housing instability, lack of work experience or Canadian work experience, lack of a support network, justice involvement, mental health and/or addiction challenges, literacy challenges, low self-esteem, low income, or identify as a youth at risk, older worker or survivor of violence and abuse.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality test, typically based on psychological attributes and is used to determine differing strengths and types of personalities in a workplace or other settings.
Work Personality Index (WPI)
The WPI Select Report is designed to help guide personnel selection decisions. Measuring 17 personality traits, the Select Report provides a comprehensive assessment of candidates’ work personalities.

Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES)
The Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES) assessment measures three important Essential Skills; reading text, document use, and numeracy. TOWES assesses how skills are applied to solve problems or complete tasks. Results will indicate if current skills can be applied to complete basic, intermediate, or advanced workplace tasks.

Personality Dimensions in the workplace workshops can include:

- Career Dimensions focuses on your work preferences. This assessment helps you explore various work environments in which you are most comfortable by examining various areas, including the natural talents you bring to work, your values, major job stressors, work philosophy, and definition of success.
